Role // UX & UI Design of Enterprise Software Platform
The Challenge: To design and develop a completely new version of LookLook.app, while onboarding a new technical team, vastly expanding the platform’s core functionality and feature set, migrating legacy mobile apps to a new progressive web framework, and launching a new, self-service business line in five countries.
The Approach: For the new platform, we developed a modular, flexible architecture that defined overlapping feature sets in terms of four main user types -> Moderators, Analysts, Recruiters, and Participants. By taking a component approach, we could prioritize those features most important to each user journey, and design them accordingly, from new Participant recruitment (ElasticSearch), to real-time interactions between moderators & participants (websockets) to the multi-channel invite system (Twilio), to automated video transcriptions and translations (Amazon Transcribe).
The Result: The platform has seen a four-fold increase in monthly active users since launch, and has expanded its footprint beyond the US into 8 countries, including Germany, France, Brazil, Poland, Mexico, UK, Thailand, and the United Arab Emirates. Additionally in China, we launched a WeChat version of the application, and for participants in all countries we created a mobile progressive web app, that not only expanded greatly on existing functionality, but also eliminated the need for downloads and updates.
